Medical Assistance Programs
Compassionate Support for Healing and Hope
At Vincentian Social Services, we believe that no one should face illness alone—especially when struggling with poverty and chronic health conditions. Our Medical Assistance Programs are built on empathy, rigorous need assessment, and a commitment to restore dignity and offer hope to those in critical need.
Pratheeksha – Dialysis Support Program
“Pratheeksha” means Hope in Malayalam.
Launched at the Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, this program supports economically vulnerable patients undergoing dialysis. Dialysis is not only a medical procedure but a lifeline with hidden costs:
Travel expenses for each hospital visit
Loss of daily wages for both patient and bystander
Uncovered medical costs, often unaffordable
Many patients require dialysis two to three times per week, making it nearly impossible to continue treatment without support. Under Pratheeksha, we offer ₹1,000 per dialysis session, easing their burden and preserving their dignity.
Project SNEHA – Supporting Children with SLE
Through Project SNEHA, we extend targeted support to children diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)—a lifelong autoimmune condition that requires continuous medical attention, emotional care, and financial support.
General Medical Aid
In addition to focused projects, Vincentian Social Services also provides:
Monthly financial assistance to chronically ill individuals
One-time emergency support for treatment and surgeries
Non-medical assistance to cover travel, food, or basic caregiving costs
Our medical support is more than financial—it is a gesture of solidarity during life’s most vulnerable moments. Through Pratheeksha, SNEHA, and our broader assistance efforts, we work to reduce suffering, restore dignity, and bring hope where it is needed most.
