Medical Camps – Reaching the Unreached in Tribal Communities
At Vincentian Social Services, ensuring healthcare equity is central to our mission. As part of our unwavering commitment to the well-being of marginalized and tribal populations, we regularly conduct medical camps in Kottoor, a remote tribal settlement in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
These camps are made possible through the collaborative support of our dedicated partners—ESAF Foundation and ESAF Bank CSR, KIMSHEALTH, and Sree Nethra Eye Hospital. Together, we deliver essential medical services directly to those who need them most.
Each camp serves around 100 individuals, including children from local tribal hostels. For many, this is their only accessible opportunity for medical attention—otherwise requiring long and difficult journeys to distant health centers.
The camps provide:
General health check-ups
Eye examinations and referrals
Pediatric and women’s health consultations
On-site diagnosis and follow-up guidance
These outreach efforts are more than just medical interventions—they are acts of solidarity, grounded in our belief that no one should be denied care because of where they live. Through these camps, we stand by our tribal brothers and sisters, promoting health, dignity, and hope in the heart of the forest.
