Skill Development Programs – Building Skills, Creating Futures

At Vincentian Social Services, we believe that skill development is more than vocational training—it is a pathway to dignity, self-reliance, and transformation. In a world of growing inequality and rapid change, equipping vulnerable individuals with the right skills ensures not just economic empowerment, but also social inclusion and personal growth.

Our Skill Development Programs reach a wide spectrum of individuals—including coastal youth, children living with HIV, aspiring professionals, and disaster-affected communities—through targeted, practical, and values-driven training initiatives.

Patient Care Assistant Course – Empowering Coastal Youth

In partnership with KIMS Hospitals, we launched a one-year Patient Care Assistant training for youth from the coastal community of Poonthura, Thiruvananthapuram. Over 25 students enrolled, receiving a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 to support their education. Today, many of them are gainfully employed in the healthcare sector—serving with compassion and building stable futures for themselves.

Python Programming for Children Living with HIV

In collaboration with PhogerEdwhere Learning LLP, we offer a free online course in Python programming to children living with HIV. Designed to foster digital literacy and open new career paths, this initiative also provides participants with a certificate upon completion—giving them both skills and recognition in the tech world.

Life Skills Training – Strengthening Resilience

Emotional resilience and life competencies are just as critical as technical skills. Our Life Skills Training sessions—regularly held for children from coastal areas, disaster-affected families, and those living with HIV/AIDS—equip young minds with self-confidence, communication skills, and coping strategies to navigate life’s challenges with courage and clarity.

Rise Up – Empowering the Next Generation of Social Workers

Rise Up is a unique initiative dedicated to mentoring and advancing young social work professionals. Bridging the gap between academic knowledge and field realities, Rise Up supports early-career social workers through:

A WhatsApp-based learning community for peer engagement

Expert-led webinars and one-on-one mentorship

Hands-on training in digital tools, corporate fundraising, research methods, and therapeutic approaches

A focus on professional identity and real-world readiness
